Nowad...Dear Dato', I agree with Hansac's.

Nowadays, there is a need to have a chaplain of the other faith (Christian/Buddhist/Hindu) to serve the non Moslem officers and NCO serving in the Armed Forces.

Armed Forces should consider this with open heart and due diligence.

Having non-Moslem chaplain should not be viewed as a 'threat' to the majority Moslem in the Armed Forces. Rather, it should be viewed as diversity in the context of Malaysian's multi racial community.

I hope that the Armed Forces Council could look into this with due diligence so that all Malaysian who serves as member of the Armed Forces, regardless of any religious/racial background felt it is 'worth dying for their beloved king & country'.akathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16338455534900756347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108577687673016887.post-73649053165514924642009-04-22T07:00:00.000+08:002009-04-22T07:00:00.000+08:00hello, i'm a ROTU officer cadet, to be honest ther...hello, i'm a ROTU officer cadet, to be honest there's always some religious related misunderstanding. there are 4 chinese Buddhist in my batch including me and actually, some of the chinese Buddhist don't eat beef, but everytime, the meal served during traing have beef as the main dishes although we have told our officers and instructors that we do not eat beef.that's just 1 of the the issue..
and now, i'm reconsidering wheter to join GO after i graduate....Alpha Tango Six Ninerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08321952445860589859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108577687673016887.post-35104438467712348112009-04-19T12:51:00.000+08:002009-04-19T12:51:00.000+08:00It is a fact of life !

One of the examples is this:

During the Kursus Bakal Pegawai Siri 1/2008 in which I was unceremoniously failed, I offered the use of my Nissan Serena to the Christian coursemates that need to go to the church on Sundays, free fuel and all.

There are many more examples of things like this, of my effort to include other religious faith in our military, so that they will feel they are part of the fighting force too, not just cannon fodders or pawns.

US Army has Muslim chaplains commissioned up to captains, why can't KAGAT has non-Muslim officers or at least NCOs that can cater or conduct mass for the Christians?

After all KAGAT is Kor Agama Angkatan Tentera, not KAGIT i.e. Kor Agama Islam Angkatan Tentera.

Like it or not, as we move towards greater information age, and Islam is after all a tolerant religion, why can't we have what USA have?

Malaysian military officers are not that fanatic, really. They can accomodate change, no?

Perhaps this is one of the things the top brass can think about.Ir.
