N i would only say that its an interesting site to surf.
Anyway...back to the issue of "Is the Armed Forces so ignorant?" discussion. To summarise...i would say that there's really no serious coordination between Mindef,Pbtm and Jhev as regard to the welfare of ex-servicemen.
Pbtm and Jhev should actually merge into one entity to produce more effective measures, in aiding the unfortunate veterans. Too bad...that's not the case.
Both these organisations are much more interested in showing-off their capabilities. They are all-out to outdo one another in every aspect of the word/work. Most of them (if not all) want to be in the committee....probably for the glamour and perks awaiting them.
If there had been coordination between Jabatan Rekod Pencen, Pbtm and Jhev...i'm quite sure the Lkpl Maarof case wouldn't have dragged for so long.tiongsinweehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14292944679937710360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108577687673016887.post-72273937918989513682008-10-01T11:44:00.000+08:002008-10-01T11:44:00.000+08:00Dato' Arshad, Tq for highlighting the plight o...Dato' Arshad,

Tq for highlighting the plight of LKpl Maarof. I hope the Veterans Affairs Dept & the Ex-Servicemen Association will also look into this. Your effort is a reflection of our obligations as past officers of the MAF to the servicemen who had once served under us. In this regard, I will also be taking the matter up in my capacity as a Retired Chief of Army. Sorry as I just discovered your blog.General Azumi (RTD)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17639640926794534982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108577687673016887.post-72674039863103796652008-09-20T16:40:00.000+08:002008-09-20T16:40:00.000+08:00Really sorry to hear the plight of LKpl Maarof and...Really sorry to hear the plight of LKpl Maarof and his family.

The MAF HQ would be the best organization to throw light on the compensation and pension issues since Jabatanarah Rekod Pencen is under them.

Since LKpl Maarof is an ex-Military Police, the Directorate of Military Police at Army HQ cannot escape the blame for their neglect/failure to send their unit Welfare Officer to visit LKpl Maarof and family on a regular basis. They could have easily made arrangement for the Welfare Officer at the Military Police Training Centre, Setapak to keep an eye on the unfortunate soldier.

What hit me most is the tiny disability pension LKpl Maarof is getting from the government. How on earth the government see it fit to award him with such a ridiculous if not insulting disability pension scheme? Perhaps Pak Lah could look into the Pension Scheme of the AF to ensure the disabled ex-soldiers will at least have the minimun ammount for their basic needs.mauricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03683620510088068290noreply@blogger.com
