Dato, I like to add 5 who cares to your list, hope others would add more and we will have a long list of who cares for the country to ponder.
# Who cares if the civil servants have 2hours lunch break everyday
# who cares if many do not pay their income tax
# who cares if nobody knows how senators get appointed and what value do they add to the country
# who cares if ministers say things are ok when AG report say otherwise.
# who cares when serious allegations against the country's top attorney remain unattended
Maybe at the moment it's only you and I, Dato'. Have a great newborn day. Wink..wink..
I care!
Yee
Dato,
We all care to put our important votes into action.
It's time we stand up for our rights and flush out the scums of Malaysian politics.
Dato',
My wife, my two grown up children and I CARE. That's why we are voting against the UMNO-BN government in the coming GE 13. I just hope there will be many of us who CARE enough to do the same. If we all collectively vote against the corrupt UMNO-BN government, then we might have a chance of voting out the corrupt UMNO-BN government this time for a better Malaysia for all.
Abang Mohd,
I sincerely hope more like minded malays have the courage to stand up and be counted for the good of ALL Malaysians and for our beloved Malaysia.
Salam Dato...
I really care about the 1st " Who cares if our childern or grandchildren speaks ENGLISH " b'cos my very own children are not too good to speaks English....... and thats why i relly cares.....and i agree with Frankie comments.
Sir,
I don't care anymore cos we stupid malaysians keep voting the crooks in. I will never vote BN. We will never succeed cos our education policy makes our young stupid & cannot think for themselves.
Our cuurent DPM & PM wants to follow Dr M in his early years in power to change science & maths back to BM. Is BM the world's widely use language & fore front in innovation? They just want another lost generation to stay in power.
BN keeps using the race card. Why? Divide & rule & stay in power to rob the country. NEP etc is to help the poor malays & yes they get 10%. What about the balance 90%? The malays will never realise this cos the govt puts fear in them that they will lose everything if the non malays rule.
Sir, tell me why most if not all the elite club & govt kids study overseas & in in english? WHY, why, why?
Tell me how to care? The poor malaysian like me has to live daily to make ends meet & think how to pay for the kids college fees cos my kid even with (A's can't get scholarship.
If there is a GOD pls show justice in my lifetime..........
Dato,it is the guys and gals who walked the streets and their families who cares. They are the ones who have felt the heavy burden imposed upon them by the corrupted ruling regime.
It is the pariahs of the ruling elites and their cronies who couldn't care. They have already accumulated wealth or 'haram wang' as Muslims called it,to feed hundreds of generations without having even to work a sweat.
Dato, education is the most important thing in one's teenage life. The one way street downhill of our educational standards, speaks a thousand words of whether this useless good for nothing ministerial cabinet of PM Najib is worth one cent.
To All,
What is it that we actually want? Your children can't speak good English; or Chinese and Tamil for that matter and you put the blame on someone else. Please enlighten me.
Maybe I'm a bit blur here, can the teaching of Maths and Science in English actually improve the command of English; bearing in mind that students still failed to have a good command of the language although they have dedicated English as a subject throughout the week. Can we then say that the English teachers are incompetent or the students dumb? During my school days, we have the English subject every day (for 11 years), some are 1 period and some 2-period. If it is still the same now, then why are the students still weak in English, is it because Maths and Science are being taught in BM?
As a parting note, why are Malaysians not making any noise with the present poor command of BM by all walk of life. Is BM not the national language? (Something fishy here). I thought the initial idea of teaching Maths and Science in English is to tap the vast available knowledge bank in that language and to keep up with their advancement, nothing to do with having good command of that language.
Why should Malaysians be ashamed for not being able to converse in proper English when speaking to an English-speaking tourist?, in Malaysia. I would understand if we are in their country as a tourist or on a biz trip. In fact they have all the right to just ignore you then. Surprisingly, some Malaysians are demanding that signage around Malaysia must be in English --for the sake of tourists and foreigners!??? (Something more fishy here). Come on, this is Malaysia where the national language is BM, where you have the freedom to learn any other language so long as you don't impose it on others (I mean that non-national language)
Even if we care, this will not stop the millions of voters who will still vote BN as they have been promised money from govt bonuses, ex-millitary & pensioner gratuity, etc. Money talks even though they are repaid with taxpayers' money. What about those in East Malaysia who still vote the rulling party although their natural resources have been hijacked by the famous 'white hair'?
Dato, Most of us Malaysians cares BUT are frustrated by all the UMNO/BN nonsense 'over-flowing the bucket' day after day. It is really high-time'right-thinking rakyat 'pangka' any party other than BN in the coming GE13.
My comments below are in futherance to Dale's.
If only right from day 1, we have only one type of school ie the sekolah kebangsaan, by now everybody and I mean everybody communicates in one language and that is malay.Ever hear the Indonesian Chinese speaks the Bahasa Indonesia; beautiful isn't it? But no we need the vernacular schools in addition to the sekolah kebangsaan and for many years the Sekolah Inggeris.
Fifty years down the road, we Malays have retrogressed. The playing field is no longer level.
When we used to be able able to speak and write Malay and English as if both are our mother tongues, today we can only take pride in Malay. The others can speak Malay too on top of their own language. Many of them speak and write good English as well.
Where do the Malays stand; standing proud of our Malay language? But does the world cares about our Malay language? does the private sector, both multi national and local companies care about your children's excellent Malay? No they dont. So no choice but to join the already inflated civil service.
Yes we must be proud of our Malay language (it just happen to be the national language) but to be competitive, we need to have a good command of English. If you dont have a good command of English through proper learning via good teaching, then you will be too shy to speak the language and soon the language is lodged in the back recess of your brain.
Any Malay parents who ignore the importance of English for their children's future in this country, I dare say to them that they are bodoh sombong (proudly stupid).
To Dale and All,
Personally i think teaching Maths and Science in English will not change the standard of English. I have seen and spoken to some teachers who taught science subjects in school and i must say their standard of English themselves are much to be desired. So what next need to be done? I suggest make English a compulsory must pass subject and make sure we have competent teachers, not half pass six teachers. So some might ask what the different teaching English in Math/Science and having English compulsory. Well Math/Science is very technical and it wont improve one grasp of the language. But teaching English per se and concentrating on its own 'technicalities' will have a much better effect. As for BM, it is the national language and everyone has to support that. Is the standard of BM deteriorating as Dale has argued? I doubt so but if it is, then something is wrong with our our education system. After some 30 odd years having the language being the main lingua franca of the nation and still said that the standard of the language is deteriorating, then somebody need to answer for this 'debacle'. Who can we point our fingers to ahh Dale? The rakyat? The Opposition? Your guess is as good as mine.
You and i, all of us Malaysian irrespective race, colour or creed has a reason to be proud of this country of ours... tanah tumpah darah ku.. that is why we all still give comments here and there, with the hope that two cents worth of comments may make a different...for the better.
WE ALL CARES.
