THEFT OF RMAF JET ENGINES - PUBLIC PERCEPTION ERODED

The last few days, the new media is having a gala time reporting on the missing RMAF jet fighter engine, and instead of just one engine, now the number has increased to two. Just don't believe in that number as yet. It may be many more, because the bottom of the ice-berg can be 100 times larger than the tip. Isn't this the indication given by the Chief of Defence Force himself?

Now, I not going to blame anyone nor ask anyone to be jailed for the fiasco. But the many people that I met does not seem to be too happy at the way the government handles the issue, that is viewed as an act of treason by those involved in the theft of the engines. The punishment meted to those involved as reported, does not reflect the severity of the case. We are not taking about a motor car engine, but a jet fighter engine, and surely the original equipment manufacturer will be deeply concern as to which country gets possession the engine.

It was indicated in the main stream media of the likelihood that the engines had been shipped to a middle eastern country. My guess is a country under sanction by the US, and it was only upon the US having sensed that the engines could possibly be in the hands of a country under sanction, that our government decided to expose the theft. Hence, the two year long silence.

Another view as to why the government decided to keep the news under wraps at the time was because the country was nearing the 2008 General Elections, and exposing such an issues that impinge upon national security, would be disastrous for the ruling government. And to bring out the issue soon after the elections was not the right time either, because this will jeopardize the momentum that has been building up by pro Najib supporters, to ensure that Najib becomes the next Prime Minister, following BN's disastrous 2008 General Elections.

On hindsight, I believe that the government was wrong in keeping silence from public knowledge, this security related issue that has serious national and international repercussions. The government will now have to bear the brunt of public odium, and also possibly the loss of pubic confidence in the government's future handling of serious security related issues. Whatever reasons and justifications that the government has given now has little impact on building and reassuring public confidence, and this does not augur well for Najib's leadership.

Had the government acted promptly upon the theft being known in 2007, I believe public confidence would not have been badly eroded.

Dear dear dear All,

O.K. guys, pick your choice !!??…its about time, we indeed see proper justice in our country yaa…!!.

… To hang them for “TREASON ” using – A. Common Law or B. To chop their head off using Islamic Law??. Since PM,PDRM and PAT have all agreed on it too that the offence fall under treason.

,,,Prime Minister Najib Razak Monday vowed there would be no cover-up in the investigation.

,,,Police have arrested four individuals, including the buyer, the seller and airforce personnel who assisted in stealing the engine.

,,,Armed forces chief Azizan Ariffin said the theft was only the “tip of the iceberg” after an audit revealed millions of ringgit worth of equipment was missing, the New Straits Times reported. Azizan said those found guilty of stealing and selling the engines should be charged with treason.

“Their act jeopardises national security. They are traitors and should be punished for treason,” he said.

A. In Malaysia, it is treason to commit offences against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s person, waging, attempting to wage war or abetting the waging of war against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, a Ruler or Yang di-Pertua Negeri. All these offences are punishable by hanging, which derives from the English treason acts (a former British colony, Malaysia’s legal system is based on English common law).

B. According to the Quran the prescribed punishment ranged from imprisonment to the severing of limbs and the death penalty depending on the severity of the crime, however even in cases of treason the repentance of a person would have to be taken into account. Many Islamic theologians believe that the death penalty is acceptable punishment for treason and other “mischief in the land”.

YES,,,,,I rather go for the hanging, less bloody I guess ?.
O.K. now, don't tell me you guys don't have the stomach for it ?!.

Dear All,

Ever heard of ACCOUNTABILITY ?

Accountability starts from the very top to the lowest.
In this case, the highest officer incharge is answerable till the lowest!
The Minister of Defence is answerable ? No ?

Capt Longhouse.. tell us more of the SKYHAWKS..sure you know more about the inside stories lets have a PLAYBACK from you, the horses mouth!

MY TAKE : To chop off the heads in Public would serve a better purpose, for that becomes a very good deterrent factor for one and all to see....all potential scums of the earth can watch and think a million times before contemplating the next crime!

Islam is the answer to all our woes! But we chose not to believe it, are we to be blamed or the government of the day..which is "SECULAR ALL THE WAY"

They have a good reason for not accepting the PAS recommendations to implement HUDUD laws, otherwise all our BN ministers will walk around with their hands inside their pockets...!

THE END IS GETTING NEARER!

FOLKS - Points to PONDER!

Why did the Minister said that there are actions being taken PREVIOUSLY, one instant he says more then just ONE/TWO engines, he says now with spares, what is the actual value, seems funny.. as some have pointed out, sold at RM50 million?

First report says one officer and 3 other ranks, next thing he says 4 other ranks, no officer....all Sgts and below, so blind me which is which now?

After that the story of the General and 40 over officers sacked or told to leave! Some with pension some without..some disloyal discharge some dishonorable discharge!

So many standards and yet the AKTA IS SUPPOSED TO BE EQUAL TO ONE AND ALL! GUESS WE ARE FOLLOWING MACC GUIDELINES TOO! SELECTIVE PUNISHMENTS!

Why asked them to leave?

Charge them and send them to the court and to jail IF FOUND GUILTY!

Are we confused or the enemy is confused OR TRYING TO CONFUSE US ALL?

WHAT REALLY DISAPPEARED NOBODY KNOWS I GUESS...JUST TOO MANY WENT "AWOL" OR "MIA" !

Next question is ..who is that General - does he not have a name? Why did he get away with a retirement benefit, whereas this could well be a treason charge - if the AL' MAUNAH GANG WHO COMMITTED TREASON BY STEALING just small arms & WEAPONS ...they WERE HANGED... WHY THIS CASE DOES NOT QUALIFY that charge & punishment !

Even corrupted politicians have names..why this General cannot be named & revealed?

ARE WE HAVING A SMELLY RAT SOMEWHERE?

OR HE KNOWS TOO MUCH OF OTHER GREATER BLATANT PRACTICES DONE BY OTHERS HIGHER THAN HIMSELF AND HAS HELD THOSE INVOLVED BY THE BALLS?

I suggest that the government be brave and bold enough to let him go to the courts and defend himself, lets see how we can indict him, find him guilty of all charges and hang him!

OTHERWISE THE WRITING ON THE WALL WILL BE - "ANOTHER BIG Cover Up"

Remarks*
WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED NOT TO SPECULATE AND PASS WRONG INFO TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ESPECIALLY WE THE RETIRED BLOGGERS!

SO MINISTER I SUGGEST YOU COME OUT WITH THE TRUE STORY AND TELL US THE TRUTH, NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH AND ONLY THE WHOLE TRUTH!

komando said...

Incidentally we did had a Lt Col sent to the slammer for approving a contract to his own wife!

He was jailed !

The amount was just RM30K!

So now we have 50RM Million big ones and maybe more!

WHAT STANDARD ARE WE USING... ISO BERAPA INI?

JUST TO SHOW THAT THE AKTA IS ABUSED TO ITS MAX!

GUESS THERE IS A VERY OLD SAYING WHICH IS PROVEN RIGHT!

"THE RANK IS ALWAYS RIGHT"!

It looks like the Minister of Defence is making contradictoy statements that confuses the public.

For example why mention the Armed Forces Council to decide on the fate of the RMAF personnels involved in the case when is still investigated by the Police?Let the Police conclude the investigation and the AG to decide who to prosecute.

Although initially I commented that the RMAF personnels be tried by military justice, however on hindsight this is not feasible as there are civilians suspects involved as well, therefore is best be handled by the AG through the Criminal Court.

These are engines. I told PDRM Ramli about the missing new Airbus A330 that MAS ' lost ' due to negligence of the management. The engines cost still pale in comparison to the catering and engineering losses annually at MAS. Rosli Dahlan knew of this and told MAS that silencing Captain Reinu was better. Ramli was supposed to investigate MAS but his comrade Rosli Dahlan was covering up for MAS , so wo is doing what for whom ? Guess what , I said I would be quiet till the right time......Hmmmmm. MACC, you threw away my files is it ?
Just be careful, Let us not,in our zeal to hang those we hate and those who have destroyed our country, we rush into supporting SATAN itself. We know about Musa but how much do we really know about Ramli and especially Rosli Dahlan and their personal dealings. I know lots , especially about Rosli Dahlan, all the way to his university days and his ‘ Singapore ‘ roots. Too long to get into here but what goes around comes around right, Rosli Dahlan? Tell the public about your dealings with MAS and your evil and corrupt ‘ conspiracy ‘ with MAS , Dr,Mohamaddon Abdullah, Tajuddin Ramli, Dato Md Nor Md Yusof ( now hiding in Khazanah )and the judges against Captain Reinu and his revelations. Lets tell the public about all the documents given to the PM’S office and the ACA (now MACC )by Captain Reinu. You are in it. Conspiracy against you, YES definitely so !!!and lots more to come…no different from your dealings with the devils against not only me but also in numerous other dealings including property fraud …..with your law firm.. Ha! Ha! I love this….more Hell to come your way…Rosli Dahlan ,I know for a fact.Your many BOMOH’S not only can’t save you……wasted your money lah !!

Capt's Longhouse said...

,,,hahaha it looks like the Capt's are back !! to bring justice and rule of law to this nation ??

,,,indeed, welcome Captain Reinu, lets nail them in their coffin for good this time round !. hehehe

There is something more sinister here possibly. Our government has something to hide! The Minister knew all along what was happening! The jet engines and stuff was sent to a middle eastern country. 2 years later Big Brother caught on. They were angry as hell! The PM was summoned to US and asked all sorts of questions. Now PM has no choice so he and his team of spinners came out with this story.
Notice also the case of the "bomb makers" in Kelantan. You can bet your money that the US would have told the Thais about how we are giving shelter and support to some people. And so our police "arrested" some people!!
Are we are playing a dangerous game here?

Komando, another copy n paste fm Capt dr x-RMAF;-

2. It appears that via a special G to G arrangement, the Malaysian government bought 80 A4 Skyhawks from the USAF in the 80’s. It was delivered to us at the beginning of 1984. These are working aircraft with plenty of mileage to go. Thirty five aircraft was brought back to Malaysia and was used in the service. A few dropped from the sky, one went missing over South China Sea (Lt. Wahi) and the rest was used until it could not be used again. Some became spare parts. The balance (45 jets) was left in the California dessert parked under the scorching sun. It was never brought back.

3. The 45 aircraft that was left in the Californian dessert was never brought back. It was place under the management of a company in the US. This company ends paying the parking chargers for years. Sometime between the years 2000 to 2003, RMAF decided to take back the aircraft and sell them off. Our TUDM officers from KL were sent to look for the aircraft in the dessert. They found it but the shocking part is that they no longer legally own the aircrafts.

4. As it turns out, the paperwork involving the purchase went missing and the Air Force were not able to show proof of ownership. Therefore they could not take out the Skyhawks from the open air parking area. The haggling and tussle over the ownership continued for several years until it became clear that the aircraft ownership cannot be ascertained. The Malaysian government paid for it but did not kept the receipt.

5. I remember the matter was raised in parliament several years back and unverified reports indicates that the aircraft was sold to an American company for pittance. Maybe our MP’s should revisit this matter again. My friend was right when he said entire fleet of 45 aircraft disappeared from TUDM Inventory. In actual fact it was not even recorded in the TUDM inventory. Since it did not go into our books despite paying for it and having no receipt to show proof of payment, then no aircraft actually went missing. The only thing missing is the money for the 55 aircraft!

..the cat is out of the busket ?..

O.K. more to come.....RELAX be Cool.

Nampaknya skandal hanya melibatkan TLDM & TUDM.

Saya agak tuan faham apa maksud saya.

WOW with Capt Reinu coming out a new twist to the bigger story of ROSLAN & RAMLI !
OMG - shits hits fans !

I see so much of this. A friend of mine visited the famous Kerling Junkyard and the guy keeps talking of his 'special' relationship with army store people i.e. taking new vehicle parts out the back door. Has containers full of new parts. Also was saying he was swapping old parts for new. Need to get a journalist up there and see if he wants to tell the same story

Those days one will hear of the term "tendang minyak"...."jual ration" ....that was about all..

Now OMG maybe they have sold Mindef silently...!

maurice said...

Dear fesm_ndt,

Hope the Special Branch of the Military Police pick up on your good tip.

They could investigate and catch the culprits selling military parts to the Kerling Junkyard.

It should be an interesting challenge for the Special Branch MP, if they still have the will.

Hmm...few years back one of my friend told me that there was an idea to install some x-ray machines at all MINDEF security entrances so that the MPs would be able to see whether the locals' and foreigners' cases are safe to enter. You know what? The top people don't agree with that idea. To some of them we don't have real threat in that sense. Just let the money in the cases pass through....

Dear Dato's,sirs & friends,
Salam, I respect your comments and views but do not get carried away with flying statements, generalise and seem to look like assumptions.
It is good to see some seems to be like a sure or factual statements or based on a report ( Like from media, etc) otherwise we can seek for clarification if so.
Or why not we suggest an impromptu gathering with Pak Chad. From which we can exchange our views and how to look at things better.
My apology if I offend anyone but I am saying because I myself need to learn and listen to others as well. From this meeting we may able to establish our direction better!
TQ & regards.
