CAMPAIGNING IN MILITARY CAMPS

It surprised me to see a picture of the BN candidate for the Bagan Pinang by-election, Isa Samad being received by a group of Army Officers in what was reported to be a meeting of Isa Samad with members of the Armed Forces Employee Union, and the Negeri Sembilan Defence Ministry Staff Club at Port Dickson recently. The photo appeared in the Sun tabloid dated October 6, 2009.

I am appalled at what I saw, and several questions comes to mind. Firstly, in what capacity is Isa Samad meeting the civilian employees of the Defence Ministry in Port Dickson? Secondly, what has the Army Officers got to do with the meeting, knowing full well that Isa Samad is merely a candidate for the by-election, and does not hold any official position in government nor in the party. Thirdly, don't Isa Samad knows that he has no right to get into a military camp to campaign, and if he wants to meet the civilian employees of the Defence Ministry (for whatever reason), it has to be done outside the confines of a military camp? Fourthly, whoever was the army officer that had instructed his subordinate officers to receive Isa Samad, knowing full well that it is going to be an election campaign, is deemed to have acted partisan in favour of the BN candidate. Had I been the superior officer in the camp, I would have sacked the officer.

Now my question to Isa Samad is this; what if the opposition candidate decides to do the same as what you did? Will you cause a furore or will you say that the opposition candidate has every right to do the same? I doubt very much that Isa Samad will agree with the latter. And even if Isa Samad does not say anything, I am quite sure that the Election Commission will be jumping sky high to claim that the opposition candidate had violated the rules governing election campaigning. For this, the opposition candidate will be disqualified to stand for the election.

Being a retired senior army officer, I am saddened that Isa Samad has dragged in the army officers into his political game, and I deemed this to be a devious act. Isa Samad had served the government before as a Menteri Besar and a federal minister, and I am quite sure he knows the rules relating to the involvement of military personnels in his political campaign. Or is Isa Samad saying that the meeting was just to get to know the civilian staffs, but why during this period of the by-election when he is the candidate? Say what he wants, certainly Isa Samad has violated the 'sanctity' of the military camp, and should he still wants to visit the camp, he has to wait until he win the by-election and is pronounced the Menteri Besar. And when that time comes, I am quite sure the military will only be too glad to accord him the Regimental Quarter Guard.

I would like to hear a response from Army Headquarters concerning the above matter, and if nothing is forthcoming, I then will assume that it is proper for the opposition to be given the opportunity to campaign in military camps in the future.

What a pity to this BN candidate for he's so desperate for votes. I bet he knows the ruling of civilian entering an army camp but choose to ignore. He's just being arrogant for he knows no army officer going to stop him, in fact they welcome him.

Welcome to Malaysian Army, General Isa Samad!

Tapi kalau nak salahkan pegawai-pegawai yang terlibat kita pun tau mereka-mereka tu cuma ikut arahan sebab kalau tak ikut nanti dichas ingkar perintah.

General atasan tu aku tak fikir ZZ sebab ZZ tengah bengang pangkat TPTD dia dah diura-ura akan diberi oleh Mael Polin kepada 'pet general' dia, Raja Affendy yang kalau bercakap sikit-sikit "At this juncture, At this juncture...."

I have just posted comments about army generals and soldiers always appear busy in the constituency where there is a by-election.

This is the best time for the army seniors to "lick" the politicians' balls and show that they are fit to be PTD even from a two-star position such a Div commander!
Remember? It has happened.

I know a Unit Commander would never allow political campaigns to take place in army camps without "green lights" from Army HQ!

Back to square one! PTD again!

Do you blame politicians? NO, it's the Army who allows the BN/UMNO politicians to ride on them.

Dear Army Generals and soldiers,

Keep abreast in politics BUT never
support any political party. Vote wisely to chose your better candidate.

Pak Taming Sari,

U lagi spesifik tentang meja makan malam untuk "Retarded" Armed Forces Officers' Dinner tu. Wow sampai RM10,000 satu meja.

Sorrrrrrry lah.

When UMNO does it the SPR is blind, when the opposition does it, it is called TREASON!

Haiyah why pening kepala?

LET IT BE!

SPR cannot answer, the only answer FROM ME is DISQUALIFY THAT SHORT ARSE!

I have said it before: "ONLY ARSE LICKING GENERALS AND BALLS SUCKING ONES ARE LEFT IN THE SERVICE!"

THE GOOD ONES HAVE LEFT..
THEY ARE GENERAL MANAGERS NOW!

NO NEED TO BE A MILITARY GENERAL TODAY, IT IS A BIG SHAME TO BE CALLED ONE! YOU HAVE TO PLAY BALLS OR ELSE YOUR BALLS WILL BE PLAYED!

"PERIOD" ...AS SAID IS A WASTE OF FARKING TIME ! IT IS A VERY OLD SAYING IN THE MILITARY! BUT STILL RELEVANT VERY MUCH !

SAD SAD SAD

WHAT A WAY TO END AND WHAT A WASTE THE NOBLE PROFESSION HAS TURNED OUT TO BE!

Dear Dato' Arshad,

After I read FMZam's earlier comments I started communicating with some friends to gather more informations and I heard that before the ReUnion Dinner with DYMM The Agong there is also the tahlil, visit to National Defence University and Golf. True?

When I knew about the concept of the Reunion Dinner and the exhibition and segreggation of the
"RICH and POOR" ex-MAF officers, I could not have a peaceful sleep!

Dato', may I humbly request your kind indulgence to post the entire reunion events, for I might want
to join the tahlil ( with lttle or NO PROTOCOL) with my buckshee intake guys. They are ex-liutenants, kapts, mejars or Brig Jen like your goodself, who have fought and contributed to this country more than some of those
ceremonial generals. Unfortunately because they were true soldiers, never "lick balls", remain as what they were and NOT FILTHY rich, they live merely on pensions.

Dato' Arshad, I trust you have more wisdom that those other generals and admiral in the commitee who can drive some sense.
The is already a very high level group called the "Chiefs Circle", which is the gathering of ex-PATs and service chiefs. Please, do not
use ex-MAF officers platform to rub shoulders with DYMM Agong, MENTAH, KSU, PAT and service chiefs, etc, etc and respect PARIAH retirees like us. Enough is enough!
Please jettison all those positions
in the military, the status and the wealth if we need to close ranks among ex-military officers!

We want to live as peaceful comrade-in-arms, enjoy mutual stories of sacrifices we all went through in early days we were in the military. We are now on a very short transit to the next world and throw away those PROTOCOL.

Maaf Dato Arshad, You and most of us live in REAL WORLD but there are some who would carry their ranks and status even in toilets and in grave yards.

Salam.

Dato' Arshad,
The practice of serving with fear hoping for favour has infected the top brass of the Armed Forces of this country. If the disease of politicisation has spread in all branches of the Government, we shall invariably be like what took place in neighbouring Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. To salvage this rotten situation back to its former glory would be an uphill battle. I shudder to think what will this country's future be. Surely we can get rid of the corrupt through the ballot box in the next GE.

Dear General,
It makes me proud to know that there still exist a true General instead of the Tan Sri, Dato' Seri and Dato' that we have in the MAF today. I am myself an ex-serviceman. In my opinion, it is the very lack of PROFESSIONAL Generals that is the cause of the rot in the MAF. Instead, what we have today are POLITICAL Generals who are there to make the most for themselves regardless the damage done to the Service. Get rid of BN and then get rid of these political appointees. Then only can the MAF once again shine as the proud and noble establishment it once was.

YBhg Jeneral Arshad,

Those guys in UMNO are desperate people and I am not surprised. They will do anything to gain control of the country-at all cost. I can imagine what was said in the army camp. They don't think about the development of the country as a whole, only in terms of their own race and more race. Very bigot in nature.
Talking about Ketuanan Melayu and the BTN issue, the real tuans in my life are people who are brave enough to speak up irrespective of race or religion. It is comforting to know that there are stll some good men left and you give me hope that we can still be a great nation, not a failed one. Take care and may God bless you always.
