WILL WE SEE AN END TO CORRUPT POLITICIANS?

There is so much written about the Bagan Pinang by-election in the blogsphere, and also some predictions made with regards to who wins or loses. Clearly, the BN is not leaving anything to chance and losing is not the option anymore in this by-election. PM Najib has already said the the end game is to win by all means, and it is for this very reason that the entire government machinery is out in Bagan Pinang to do their bit, and this includes the army as well.

I am not going to make a prediction because I am so confused at the campaigning methods used in this by-elections. And I am even more confused as to why the Election Commission has been dumb and mute to the intransigent of the BN to offer 'bribes' in various forms, and to use the army camps in the pretext of wanting to show care and to shower gratitude to the soldiers, who are all voters in the by-elections. Even my call to the Army to make their stand with regards to a candidate being received in the camp for his political campaigning has remained unanswered. My question is why allow the army to be dragged into this unjustified political web, and later to be embroiled in violent criticism from the public? If the public were to say that the army is now a stooge to politicians, the army will now find it hard to disprove it.

This election has set new standards, and a dangerous precedence. One that will see greater violence, and more 'bribes' offered. Is this going to be Malaysia's way of conducting future elections where even the official body that is suppose to conduct, monitor and to arbitrate breaches in election rules don't seem to be effective and does not display their neutral stance?

Honestly, I am just fed up, and I am now thinking not to cast my vote in the next General Elections. Please do not say to me that the government is going to fight corruption in earnest, because it is going to be a bag of lies. I will now welcome all corrupt politicians to continue being involved in politics for it is through politics that they can enrich themselves. Haven't Khir Toyo shown them the way?

God bless this nation of ours.

The Bagan Pinang by-election is a very clear proof of where BN/UMNO had gone all out doing everything possible as long as they win the election. They had gone against all rules, logics and common sense which place BN/UMNO into a very
questionable organisation.

The decision to accept Mohd Isa Samad, a CORRUPT politician, to be the BN/UMNO candidate for Bagan Pinang is a mockery of the highest order.

BN/UMNO and Mohd Isa might have won the Bagan Pinang by-election battle, but they have LOST the war! They have completely lost the respect of the "good and decent rakyats" of this country.

BN/UMNO's and Mohd Isa's win in Bagan Pinang is also the Nation's loss in the war against corruption.

I feel so dissapointed and ashame at what BN/UMNO had done. They will pay a very high price in the next General Election.

I see there is NO change and will never be in the trend of corrupt politicians in this country. Instead, politicians become more blatant with corruption and the ready excuses which are all against logics. They think the rakyats are 'bodoh' but they are making a very big mistake!

This country's top political leaders are driving this country to "corruption doomsday" because they do not have balls to put a stop to corruption.

May God bless all of us.

Dear Taming,

We are not asking the right questions.

Corruption is deeply rooted in our culture.Just look, Duit Hari Raya is a form of corruption. We corrupt the young with easy money.

Likewise the politicians nowadays corrupt the society with money. It is inevitable because we are a society of wants.

We take what we can.You leave something unattended, it will soon disappear.Young people roaming around, snatching bags from woman without remorse. It is always the easy way.

We have lost the magic word of sweat and hardwork.I am afraid our societal evolution is heading for the worst. The decay can only be stopped if the politicians themselves sedar of their misdeeds and start doing the right things for the society. The revolution must begin from the top.

Do you think we can root out corruption quickly? The answer is nay.

The Isa-Bagan Pinang case is really shocking and clearly illustrates the dilemma of Najib when faced with the choice of party's survival and pursuit of national agenda(eradication of corruption). As the proverb says,
'Di telan mati bapa, di luah mati mak.'

I blame the BN people in Bagan Pinang for allowing Isa to 'blackmail' Najib and Mahyuddin to nominate him to be the BN candidate. It goes to show some parts of our society is oblivious to the need to have a clean ADUN/MP.

It is this segment of society that needs to be educated in the evils of corruption.Change may not come in their present generation but change will come when new generation overtakes them.

So for the moment,do not just blame the politicians but blame ourselves as well for being unable to stop and eradicate the disease of corruption.
