SULTAN IBRAHIM – HERE I COME

I am amazed to read a recent statement made by the newly installed Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim, who had cautioned all Johor state assemblymen and civil servants to buck-up, or be disposed off if they are found to be non-performers or malingerer in the performance of their work. I believe the Johor ruler meant what he said, and his tone shows the seriousness of his intent.

The Johor ruler had repeatedly said that he wants to be briefed on all that is happening to the state, right down to the village level. This will certainly send shivers to some who have been malingering, and also to those that have all the while thought that their status in government cannot be subject to questioning.

I can sense the plight of all state assemblymen and civil servants, and the sleepless nights that they will have to endure, if they are suddenly being called to the palace for an explanation. Mind you, the Johor ruler even said that he has his own people, or 'agents' of sorts to keep him inform, and this gives little opportunity for anyone to tell a 'cock and bull' story.

This is an example of leadership that our military leaders should emulate. To be at the 'helm' is to know everything that is under one's command, and with knowledge, one tends to gain greater respect. It is pointless for leaders (military included) to go around sporting in suit and tie, accompanied by an entourage of bodyguards, but have little sense of what is happening around them. I am not surprise if there will be some who will jolted, and to even suffer a minor “stroke' at the unexpected sight of the Johor ruler appearing in their offices.

I believe that what the Johor ruler is trying to do is to create a serious awareness among state assemblymen and civil servants of their responsibility to the state and to the people, and that any lack in their responsibility will do injustice to the state, and a disservice to the ordinary people.

Dear Dato'

Unfortunately I don't see that happening with Perak and Selangor state.

It's all about integrity.

Dato,
Is that a wake up call from HRH the Sultan to all his subjects who were confered with authority.I am a Johorean and I am not please at all with what have been done to the state by the existing government.Hopefully Johorean will not pick up any more Muarian to be the next MB ,get somebody else from other district except Muar which is famous for Zapin,Mee Bandung,Ghazal and of course Asam Pedas Parit Jawa.I am ashame to look at JB which was badly managed in comparison with Singaporean. If I am the MB of Johore I will definitely milk every single Singaporean which croses into my territory to pay for all development in JB and make it as good as Singapore. After all they are enjoying all the state facilities and it is very cheap for them because of the exchange rate.

Dear Dato',
Selalunya orang baru memanglah perlu membuat kejutan sebegini.
Ia seolah-olah jawatan MB tu tiada oomph.
Namu apabila dilihat dpd perspektif pentadbiran harian memang elok jika para politik di peringkat negeri berbaik-baik saja dengan pihak Istana tetapi jangan pula terlalu akur sehinggakan kerajaan negeri berfungsi di bawah telunjuk Istana. Nanti MB jadi kerbau cucuk hidung'.
Adakah pentadbirab negeri Johor begitu kelam-kabut?
Rakyat Johor sungguh bertuah.
Semoga Allah melanjutkan usia DYMM Sultan Ibrahim.

No disrespect meant. Could this be a mere flash in the pan? All talk and no action. The Raja Muda of Perak had said many things about good governance, rule of law, moral corruption and corruption of the kind that you and I abhor. But what come of all his assertions? They are mere words to placate his audience. How sad.

Dear Dato',

Amin

Though I do agree with Fathol and Komando but if we look at this young Sultan; when he was the Raja Muda he traveled throughout the state with his motorbike and may have seen many things not right. But political will is another matter. Can he persuade the state to be more efficient; well that yet to be seen, Insya'Allah.
We Malaysian must unite on the motto: select better leaders where ever you are. Ask your Fathers, Mothers, Friends, Mentors, Lecturers, Teachers and Bloggers for advice. See both side of the coin i.e. alternate news and main news. But first be a better human.

Wishful thinking is good, lets wait and see if there is any WILL left!

With due respect, I would say "Adat org baru dpt kuasa memang akan beri kenyataan sebegitu. Lama-lama, dia pun akan terikut-ikut style lama jugak"

Same thing when you have a new CO or Punk-5. Tambahan pulak zama yg penuh politiking ni...

Same thing also when a new OCPD reported duty. Hari-hari buat operasi besar-besaran sebagai tanda nak kenalkan diri kepada semua tokey-tokey daerah tu.

Manis mulut di bibir, sangatlah merbahaya (lagu nyanyian Zainal)

Kah kah kah!!!...
