CORRUPTION – A DEFINITION BY UMNO

UMNO members are living in a strange world; so different from the world that we live in. They have their own rules and definition when confronted with the issue of corruption. Money politics isn’t corruption (by UMNO’s definition) and a criminal offence; hence there is no necessity to bring the offender to face the court of law. MACC and the police too have no jurisdiction over the offender, and the authority to deal with such cases is UMNO itself. Money politics, an UMNO creation have given us new meaning and definition.

We have seen how UMNO dealt with offenders of money politics in the recent past. I suppose Isa Samad was suspended from UMNO and lost his ministerial post because he may have offered his supporters an exceedingly larger sum of money than Ali Rustam and Khairy Jalamluddin could offer to their supporters. Ali Rustam and Khairy Jamaluddin, though found to be involved in money politics, were both left with a warning and were allowed to retain their position in UMNO. So you see, there are distinct grade of offences in UMNO’s money politics. I suppose the more you give the severe the punishment. Conversely, the lesser you give, the lesser the punishment.

The Isa Samad case has proven to us that being punished for money politics has its reward at a later date. Being out in the wilderness for a number of years, Isa Samad today is back in the limelight. He won back his state seat during a by-election at Bagan Pinang, Negeri Sembilan and was further rewarded as Felda’s Chairman. He is now making his presence felt as Felda Chairman with a proposal to go for listing the Felda Global Venture Holding. The opposition to the listing is strong and if this issue is not handled well, it may cause a serious setback for UMNO during the elections. Be warned that UMNO can no longer say that Felda settlers are their ‘fix deposit’ during the upcoming elections. The split among the Felda settlers are too obvious now and the opposition is exploiting it.

Next is Deputy Minister Awang Adek who confesses to have received a regular ‘cash donation’ to support his branch activities credited into his personal bank account. He believes there is nothing criminal about this arrangement and could show proof that all the monies received goes towards the branch activities. What a clever way to deflect an allegation.

I think Awang Adek is unable to differentiate between what is criminally wrong and what is morally right. He being a highly educated person is utterly confused. Let me tell Awang Adek this - that for someone (who is obviously known to you) to credit donations towards your branch activities into your personal account may not be criminally wrong, but surely it is morally incorrect. A person with integrity, honest and sincere (traits of a good leader) would not do what Awang Adek had done. By doing what he did would be seen by others as someone who is dishonest and untrustworthy. That is what I now think of him. Wasn’t he able to think of a better way to receive donation, other than having it credited into his personal account? Now, let’s say that he was an opposition member. Guess what will happen to him? I think another tragedy at the 14 floor Marsalam building in Shah Alam would have occurred.

Besides Awang Adek, aides of two notable politicians were also found to have received monthly contribution from a contractor, exposed by blogger Whistleblower711. Some months ago, we also had another aide to a minister with bundles of unexplained cash found in his house, but that news now has gone into silent mode. It was only yesterday, DPM Muhyiddin when asked about the alleged corruption of his aide said that he is looking into the case and will act accordingly. This case has been quite a while and why hasn’t Muhyiddin reported it to the authorities? What kept him so long to investigate? I smell a stink here? I can tell you that nothing will happen to all of them, unlike what happened to TBH and for a meager sum of RM2,000, he lost his life for it. What sort of justice is this? They can all hide such cases now, but let me tell them that a ‘stink’ like this cannot be kept hidden for too long. It is bound to explode sometime.

So you see, UMNO has set a new definition for corruption for this country. The term corruption only applies to others but not to themselves. They will undertake their own investigation and award ‘punishment’ accordingly and would later reward the offenders for their misfortunes. Say what you like, it is because of this that I believe corruption in UMNO will never cease. I am not the only person to believe in this, but many others and even from among UMNO members themselves.

For Umno it is not corruption, they call it fringe benefit. They do see any thing wrong in taking bribes etc because it is their god given right! Such people have no conscience or conviction nor any moral. As you pointed out correctly as long as they are umno it is ok, if it involved the opposition a different kind of fate await them even death.

Umngoks and corruption tak boleh dipisahkan. Dah jadi darah daging mereka. Kerana itu sukar utk mereka hidup tanpa rasuah. Dah jadi darah daging turun temurun. The after effect of swallowing ill gained fortune has been shown to us human being, since the beginning of time and history. But after all the generations, history is keep on being repeated foolishly by the greedy and selfish.

Bila sampai masanya, mereka akan tetap menerima dan melihat pembalasan atas perbuatan mereka.

Dato,in Umno money politics is like playing a game of monopoly. As long as money politics and corruption is comitted by Umnoputras and their cronies,it is not an offence or a crime.

But if these games are being played by opposition members, they will be summoned or arrested by the authorities and suspects and witnesses will be flying out of high rise buildings like UFO's.

Umno members suspected and found guilty of money politics are dealt with internally by their discliplinary committe. Those found guilty are given a warning or suspended.Like Isa Samad who was suspended for three years, but have his suspension lifted after less than two years.

More powerful people like Khairy was let go with a warning because his FIL was the PM.He then proceeded to the Umno youth presidential elections and won.How many people can be like Khairy to have been born under a lucky star and have a guardian angel looking after them 24/7, 365 days a year.

In democratic countries politicians found guilty of money politics can be sent to prison and barred from future active politics, but not in Umno.In Malaysia the Umno/GOM practises the two set laws.

Apparently is the same all over the world.Even in the West politicians in power make deals for themselves and their colleagues. The people there no longer trust their politicians because the Right, Centre and Left Party when in power do the same thing; they look after their political and financial interest first.

Please do not expect much from either side of the political divide.Very few politicians are able to stick to their principles when they are in power.

Some time ago, chatted with an Indian lady who was running her modest lttle makan gerai at a nearby foodcourt. I joked about her making a serious amount of money.

She replied that too much money was not good. Likely to pollute one's morals and change one's values for the worse. Much wisdom in what she said, I'd say.

Brings back how even $10 (it was not RM back then) in my pocket as a teenage student was such a big amount. Perhaps allowing for inflation, it would be equivalent to about RM50 these days.

But those days and the next few years when I went for tertiary studies and then started working, was the period when I realised that it is all too true that one can never have enough money if one wanted to keep chasing after those who had more.

Also as important was the realisation that happiness did not necessary follow just becuase one has a big bank account. Indeed, it was often the reverse which was true.

But I don't suppose that I would be able to get too many UMNO politicians and cronies, as well as those of other parties - including some from the Pakatan side - to agree with me.

As what everyone is saying and knows that corruption is a normal thing that happens. But I am very sure all Muslim knows that associating and supporting those who are involved in corruption is against the Quran and also for the other religion in this country. But when this is widely done in UMNO why are the rest of the muslim keeping quite and still supporting them. If they are true muslim and preach according to the Quran then they should not support and vote for anyone who is involved in corruption for the coming GE. I hope the muslim will show the same anger shown on isues related to their religion that have occurred in the country in a same manner to those involved in corruption in the coming GE.

Dato' Arshad,
"The Problem of Corruption" a book written by the late Syed Hussein Alatas defines corruption as restricted, rampant and destructive.
Our country has reached stage two and he said in order to fight corruption it depends on the will of the ruling class and in our case it is the party which forms the Govt of the day. Presently the will of the people who are ruling have very scant will to stamp out corruption. That means we have to get people who has the will to rid corruption in this country. We have to make the change before we become self-destructive.

Corruption exists in all societies and countries. The difference is what happens when somebody is caught. Here it is considered "normal" if it involves an UMNOputra.

Dato,
I think the majority of the Malays feels that rampant corruption among the Malay leaders are acceptable and to them it is not the top priority of concern. To them they feel that malay leaders being corrupted is a culture and no "big-deal". So, when the corrupt leaders finds that the majority of their own kind does NOT BISING, they become more brave and continue with such practice. So, that's where we are now. It's a known fact that UMNO leaders will continue with their 'money politics' in the upcoming GE13 and party elections as it is the norm and acceptable practice. If fellow muslims dare to infringed on the 'zakat' funds what else more will they dare not do? Corruption within the UMNO/BN Govt is beyond salvage and only, I repeat, ONLY a change in Govt will give the people a temporary relieve and some 'breathing space' for our country.

Dato',

The reason why these corrupt UMNO Baru thieves have been getting away with their criminal acts is because the attorney general, judiciary, MACC and PDRM are all in cohorts with these UMNO Baru thieves. Ever since the selective amnesic 4th prime minister took power in 1982, UMNO Baru is living in its own world protected by those in power to consolidate their hold onto power.

We have very little chance of seeing these UMNO thieves being prosecuted and imprisoned for their criminal acts because the entire government, law and enforcement and judiciary system is corrupted to the core. We can only hope for some form of divine intervention for justice to be served.

It is just like a train. When the head tilt, the back will follow. If the back derail, it will also affect the front. The head has continue to move straight without any obstacle. He also has to ensure the back does not derail. The head is like PM, he has to clear all the obstacles infront and the back of him to keep the train intact. He has to push the obstacle away at all cost. That is why you do not see any action being taken till date.
A fish will start to rot from the head. It is a matter in time when the whole body will rot.
It is now a daily norm we have issues after issues. They dont seen to end. We just pray after GE13, the cloud is finally clear. The question is can we achieve it with PR also having their internal problems. It look like we have to face the same problem for the next 5 years unless miracle happen at the 11 hours.

RM400 million a day of black money disappeared from M’sia! Based on the reported RM150 billion of black money a year that disappeared from Malaysia. Reports: According to the Washington-based financial watchdog Global Financial Integrity (GFI), in 2009 alone RM 150 billion (US$47 billion) in illicit money was illegally siphoned out of Malaysia.
The latest GFI report, ‘Illicit Financial Flows from Developing Countries Over the Decade Ending 2009', is penned by economists Sarah Freitas and Dev Kar, who is a former senior economist at the International Monetary Fund. They stressed that these illicit outflows are basically "unrecorded capital leakages through… illicit transfers of the proceeds of bribery, theft, kickbacks and tax evasion." In other words, it refers to corruption money or black money that is obtained illegally and worse, not even re-circulated into our economy. ENOUGH of UMNO!!!

In Sarawak alone, with Taib’s 31 yrs of abuse of power, mutli-billion $ plunder and over 10 years of the same by his Uncle before him, the Sarawak CM must be arrested now. His morality, integrity; legitimacy & right to lead are ZERO.
UMNO is equally corrupt. Nothing will be done, unless Arab Spring type pressures are mounted beginning with:
Blockade of all logging & oil palm accesses.
Blockade of all CMS & related’s access & movements.
Work stoppage. Sit-ins in offices, transport hubs & airports.
If the police intimidates.....Good! That’s the beginning of the end of Sarawak’s great tragedy & BN’s stranglehold in Malaysia.

Soros on Taib: “Look at the Sarawak Chief Minister selling billions worth of timber concessions under the table; selling every piece of state land to businessmen without tender; using his own companies to obtain lucrative government contracts; … 'you pay I approve'. He has 8 billion US stashed overseas.” “while thousands of poor people still live in cardboard makeshift homes; have no water and shit into the river.” “In China people have been shot for embezzling one thousand dollars. With 8 billion you have stolen, therefore you would be shot 80 thousand times.”

In certain countries Najib would be arrested & impeached…Malaysian PM Najib’s shelter of wildly & uncontrollably corrupt Taib Mahmud of Sarawak, is collusion, duplicity & deception of his people. Defence kickbacks, submarines & Mongolian's death... Condoning all the corrupt practices in UMNO. A betrayal of trust placed in a PM. This is tantamount to Treason - violating one's allegiance to one’s country.
