THE FEAR FACTOR – THE SABAH GOVERNMENT

It is obvious now that there is a growing fear by the Sabah government of anyone that they consider a political threat to their survival. Even the sight of MCLM President Haris Ibrahim at the Kota Kinabalu airport has send shivers in the spin of the Sabah leadership when he was denied entry into the state. Haris Ibrahim is merely the President of an NGO and an activist, and has yet to affirm himself as a candidate in the upcoming GE. He did not even say under which political banner would he be contesting, and in all probability, he would be contesting as an independent candidate. This being so, why is the Sabah government so afraid of him? I think, to most in Sabah the name of Haris Ibrahim is yet unknown and I don’t believe he has made any substantial impact in Sabah politics.

If Haris Ibrahim was not allowed to pass the gates at Kota Kinabalu airport, and if such fear persist, what about Anuar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang or Ustaz Hadi Awang then? I am quite sure, they all will not be allowed to even board the aircraft at KLIA, or the airline would refuse to sell them the tickets. This is the fear that the Sabah government has for the opposition today that I find it amusing and outright silly. I think the cause for this fear is the doing of the Sabah government itself where too many ‘hidden agendas’ are slowly beginning to surface; the most revealing being the issuance of ID’s to illegal immigrants (Indonesians and Philippines) over the years to prop up support for the Sabah government during elections. The Sabah government can go on denying this, but it is the people that know best.

The Sabah government has to understand that depriving Malaysian national the freedom to travel within his own country is at the detriment of the government itself. Although both Sabah and Sarawak has the power to deny individuals (even Malaysian nationals) from entering the state, but this power should be applied judiciously and with sound reasoning. It should not be applied for some insidious and fictitious reasons to justify the self centered and selfish needs of its political leaders. In the case of Haris Ibrahim, no reason was given, and this could give rise to lots of negative perception about the state leadership. It is true that someone has said to me recently that the Sabah government and the Chief Minister in particular is now even too afraid of his own shadow. Why is this so, unless he has too many skeletons to hide from Haris Ibrahim. And the unique nature of skeletons is that it is not too easy to dispose off. It will keep haunting you.

With the advent of technologies especially in the area of IT, one need not go anywhere to appear before an audience. What is required is a large screen, a computer and a projector to show to an audience in real time, the image of the speaker located some hundreds of miles away. This video teleconference method can be used at several places simultaneously without the speaker having to move anywhere. If this method is to be used, then Haris Ibrahim, Anuar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Ustaz Hadi Awang need not be travelling to Sabah and Sarawak for the campaigning in the next GE. Understandably, this method may not have the required impact of a live speaker, but the messages can anyhow be passed quite effectively.

To the Sabah state government, let me say this, that what you did to Haris Ibrahim is outrageous and smacks of insanity. You can do it once upon him, but when the people begin to know the truth and reason, and then there is nothing to stop them for knowing more until the groundswell of support becomes too overbearing and uncontrollable; this then signals the beginning of your last days in office.

Dato, the politicians in Sabah and Sarawak are very scared of political activists for reasons known to them only.Ambiga,Wong Chin Huat and Harris Abrahim have been denied entry into Sarawak at the last Sarawak state elections.

Maybe it is because the people trust the political activists more than they trust the politicians. They are more willing to talk to the activists, because they are scared of agents planted in political parties. They fear physical reprisal from the ruling regime.

The state governments of Sabah and Sarawak are afraid of what political activists are able to do.That is rally the voters for the opposition and dig up dirt about them. The political activist not only sent shivers down the spine of the Sabah and Sarawak leadership. They made them wet their pants too.

Just look at how scared the Umno GOM is of Bersih 2.0 that they have to send out tens of thousands of FRU and PDRN personnel. And they instructed the FRU and PDRN personels to water cannoned, tear gassed, baton charged and chased the unarmed peaceful activists and law abiding citizens many of them senior citizens home, injuring many of them in the process.

These leaders are all political
cowards, spinless and gutless chickens. They are only brave when the opposition is standing on the steepest end of the unlevelled playing field.

Sabah is the state that has the most of illegals holding legal ID's.If without this group Umno will be very weak with minimal representation in the state government. And activists are much better in digging dirt than politicians, because people are more willing to part information to them.

Salam Dato'

I just wonder, why Sabah & S'wak can have such ruling in denying Malaysian from entering the states which is in the country called 1Malaysia? Whereas those indon & filipinos are free to enter as they wish.

Should there was an agreement during formation of those staes to be under Malaysia, very timely the said agreement to be re-visited and updated in support on 1Malaysia concept.

Unless the said concept is no other than rethoric only.

Datuk,
What utter rubbish is the *war-cry* of the BN GOM as regard to the 1Malaysia concept! Just imagine whereby some Malaysians are denied entry into these two East Malaysian states....just because of their political beliefs.
Its just stupid, ridiculoua, absurd!

Dato,
Sabah State Govt is really acting stupid. By denying activist and politicians from Peninsular goes to show that they really have a lot of 'shit'to hide. But they forgot that the 'smell' of their wrong-doings carry far and wide. And by denying such people from entry into the state will further damage the image of the state govt. What are they so afraid of if the state govt has not done anything treacherous against the people of Sabah. The state govt cannot continue to fool all the people all the time. For them they might have sense it that their 'Waterloo' is nigh.

Dato',

Key Malaysian Opposition and NGO individuals are denied entry into Sabah while tens of thousands of soon-to-be blue MYKad holders foreigners from the Philippines and Indonesia are welcomed with open arms by the Sabah government. Isn't it wonderful to be foreigner in Sabah to have Sabah as their second home without having to qualify like other foreigners in Peninsular Malaysian under the MM2H program? This is certainly 1Malaysia/Sabah boleh style.

It is real sickening to hear from the PM 1Malaysia & People 1st slogan day in day out. But in reality it does NOT happen. Thousands of illegal Philipinos and Indons are walking in and out of Sabah just like their home without any travel documents or whatnot. Project IC under former PM Mahathir 'qualified' thousands to possess our Blue NRIC for obvious reasons. But damned it - our own citizens like Haris Ibrahim not allowed to enter. Dato, what bloody Govt are we having today?? No wonder Sabah will forever be a fixed-deposit state of UMNO/BN Govt. as long as the present state leaders remain in control. High time to boot them out for good. Wake-up Sabahans!!

Sabah and Sarawak holds the trump card for election victory for the whole country. This incident indicate the volatile situation of the influence and inroads into the local minds. I still have a feeling that Sabahans as a whole hates peninsular people meddling with local politics in Sabah. It just a trigger point waiting to explode for Sabah people who had enough of UMNO's antics and its nationalisation of foreigners.

Dato these dUMNO liars thieves and scumbags are fearing for their political lives.

Their days are numbered!

Now I know why Harris is banned...Self-proclaimed ‘Sultan of Sulu’ Mohd Akjan Ali Muhammad has become powerful in Sabah with his circle of Filipino that can be deployed to tip the voting scale towards UMNO in any 60 constituencies.Refer: http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/2011/12/09/sultan-akjan-returns-to-political-game/

The police/UMNO are making no noises about the 'Sultan'. UMNO has suceeded in their project M with Sabahans counting the days where they will be a minority in their own state. And Harris wanted to promote ABU..this UMNO won't allow. As I said, Sarawak and Sabah determines UMNO's survival/existence in GE 13.

GE13 will be the dirtiest and most dangerous election of all time...BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST!!!!
